My name is Chloe. I am a student, athlete, writer, and proud pro-life advocate.
I have a passion for politics that I developed at an early age. I grew up watching the news with my dad, much to my mom's disdain, and learned about all of the events that were happening around the world. My interest in learning more about current events started when I was ten and the excitement of a presidential election happening in the United States caught my attention. I watched the debates with my dad, asked him questions ab
out debate topics such as foreign policy and employment, and quickly developed my opinions about who I thought should win and what I wanted America to look like in the future. This continued throughout Barack Obama's presidency and, by the 2016 election, I was more informed and passionate about politics than ever. I spent free time between classes debating the merits of the 2016 candidates with my friends and dissecting the candidates’ positions.
As a high school student, I started a club where students could voice their opinions on politics and current events. As the president of this club, I was blessed with many opportunities for activism, including planning and moderating a town hall with United States Congressman John Curtis to speak to students about the importance of casting their votes and being informed voters, two topics that I am passionate about. I also have run social media accounts where I share my views and encourage open discussion about politics. I still
watch and discuss the news with my dad.
However, three years ago, as a 16-year-old, I had no idea what abortion was. I had heard the term here and there while watching the news with my dad, or while scrolling through my feed on my political Instagram account, but had never thought to look further into what it was. So, when I saw an ad on an Instagram story for Live Action’s “Abortion Procedures” videos, which feature former abortionist and current pro-life advocate Anthony Levatino, I became curious and swiped up.
Anyone who has seen these videos knows how powerful they are. Though they are animated, the description of how different abortion procedures are performed—through the starvation, suctioning apart, dismemberment, forced cardiac arrest, and skull-crushing of a preborn child—is disturbing. [1]
I sobbed as I watched these videos. I was heartbroken. Though I had grown up watching the news with my dad and was exposed to all sorts
of depressing events, I had never seen such a barbaric act. Or, at least, I was never old and mature enough to perceive such brutality towards the most innocent and defenseless among us. I could not comprehend how someone could do that to a baby—their baby.
That was the moment that I decided I was going to do everything I could to end abortion.
Today, I know that there are many factors that influence women to get abortions, and I have a passion for serving women who feel trapped in their circumstances and supporting them so they know that they do not have to get an abortion. I want to see mothers and their children not only survive, but thrive.
I currently am involved with activism and legislative efforts with Pro-Life Utah and Students for Life Action, an Ambassador for Live Action, a volunteer with Pro-Love Ministries, and I have more projects in the works (watch out, Utah campuses).
I do not hate women who get abortions. Rather, I hate abortion itself, and I hate our culture for convincing women that we need it. We are worthy of more than abortion provides.
Three ways YOU can get involved:
- According to Let Them Live, 73% of women get abortions because of financial burdens. [2] Any amount contributed makes a difference! Consider donating to pro-life organizations, especially local ones, so they can alleviate the financial burdens of mothers and provide needed pregnancy and childcare supplies.
- Volunteer! Pro-life organizations are always looking for more people who can join in the fight and assist them in the fight to end abortion and serve mothers and their children. They would love to have you join them in their efforts.
- Follow pro-life content creators on social media and share our content! We share informative and inspirational content on our social media pages, and we need your help in getting this information to women who may be in need of our services and support. One share could save a life and change others.
WE NEED YOU
I am passionate about ending abortion, and I want to help you get involved. For too long, society has convinced women that we need abortion to achieve equality and succeed in life. I am here to tell you that we don’t. Women deserve better than abortion, and I and my fellow pro-lifers need your help in creating a li
fe-affirming culture in America and in Utah through legislation, outreach efforts, and support. Please contact me if you are interested in activism. This movement needs everyone who is able to get involved in this fight.
